Alcohol Detoxification, Drug Detoxification-
Hope By The Sea
Being addicted to any substance whether it is alcohol, a
street drug or pharmaceutical medication is a serious condition
that can be fatal if not treated. Thinking about the alcohol
and/or drug detoxification process can be frightening. Given
the severity of some withdrawal symptoms, most are not able
to tolerate the detoxification process on their own. There
is HOPE. Our drug and alcohol detoxification
program is designed to make you as safe and comfortable as
possible throughout the entire process. In most cases medication
will only be given during the detoxification period.
The acute withdrawal stage of the alcohol or drug detoxification
period normally lasts five to seven days. Withdrawal symptoms
vary depending on the substance being abused. Some classic
withdrawal symptoms are insomnia, fatigue, chills, anxiety,
nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pains. In some
cases these symptoms can be as severe as hallucinations, seizures
and drug induced psychosis.
Our program is affiliated with an addiction medicine team
available to our facility 24 hours a day. This is a team of
highly trained professionals; Medical Doctors, Physician Assistants
and Nurse Practitioners with decades of experience in the
field of addiction medicine. Our program provides 24 hour,
on-site, supervision to our clients during the alcohol and
drug detoxification process.
